Adult bed bugs are reddish brown, flat, oval, and wingless. They have microscopic hairs and grow to about 5 mm in length. You can also detect bed bugs by looking for bed bug eggs in sheets, mattresses, headboards, etc. Bed bug eggs are tiny, whitish, and hard to see as individual bed bug eggs are about 1mm long. When first laid, bed bug eggs are usually sticky. It is hard to tell the colour of bed bugs are if they are newly hatched as they tend to be translucent. The colour of bed bugs becomes browner as they molt and grow to full-size.
Adult bed bugs are brown, while bed bug eggs and nymph bed bugs are translucent
